Every new season (from September to early July), Melo'Men is recruiting new singers, from every tessitura and all musical level, motivated to join a convivial, dynamic and well performing men choir. An important personal investment is requested from every member of the choir, mainly through assiduity in the weekly work sessions, as well as rigorous personal work on music sheets with the aim to sing songs by heart. This is mainly through such personal investment from Tenors 1, Tenors 2, Barytons, Basses, and the fifth voice part* that Melo'Men achieves a high level musical quality more and more appeciated and recognised. Personal contribution to the association daily life and organisation is also important to be able to share truely convivial and festive time, rich in emotions at any occasion the choir with all his members organises or participates to special events. An adequate work session schedule consists in a weekly 2 hours and a half meeting on wednesday evenings from 7:30 pm to 10 pm, as well as monthly week-end sessions (saturday and sunday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm) in the German Church in Paris. To join Melo'Men, you need to attend three work sessions, in order to validate that you adhere to the principle and values of the choir. You then need to pass an audition with John Dawkins, our director. You will then need to pay membership fees (€16 last year), as well as a quarterly subscription (€40 last year). Every year Melo'Men organises concerts and travels abroad to participate to festivals and share with other gay and lesbian choirs the pleasure to sing and perform on stage. To join us, you can send a message to contact@melomen.com or even better, you can come over and attend a work session at the German Church in Paris. Waiting for reading from you soon... *The fifth voice part are non-singer members that actively contribute to the life of theCchoir, offering their help and support from a logistical point of view and through their indisputable cheerfulness. |
